The abode Shock/Vibration Sensor should be installed on each area with glass to detect shock/vibration that occurs when someone is attempting to break the glass. Use the double-sided adhesive tape provided to secure the Sensor onto the window.
1. Function Button
Use a small paper clip to press and hold the Function Button one time to send the learning signal to the Control Panel/Reset to factory settings.
2. LED Indicator
The LED indicator lights up in the following conditions:
- LED flash Once: The Sensor has been reset.
- LED flash Twice: The Sensor has successfully paired
Pairing the Shock/Vibration Sensor to the Gateway
When adding the sensor to your gateway, you can use the abode web or mobile app. Log into your account at my.goabode.com and follow the steps below.
1. Click on "+Add Device"
2. From the "Abode Devices" list, click on "Glass Break Shock and Vibration Sensor" and follow the wizard to complete the process.
After pairing the sensor with the gateway, check to insure the new sensor has been included into the device list. If not, refresh your browser. If it did not pair with gateway, remove the battery and press in the function button in 3 times, then reinsert the battery and repeat install steps.
Battery and Low Battery Detection
The Sensor uses one CR2032 3V Lithium battery as its power source. Please note: ALWAYS replace battery with the correct size and voltage.
The Sensor can detect if the battery is low. When the Battery is low, a low battery signal will be sent to the gateway and user will be notified.
When changing battery, use a sharp tool to open the battery slot to remove and insert battery. When inserting batteries, the positive(+) side of the battery must face upward. NEVER insert the battery with negative(-) side facing upward.
The Sensors sensitivity settings pre-set at the factory to trigger when window/glass breaks or when a high a mount of shock or vibration is detected.
The Sensor can send alarm signal to the Control Panel according to different sensitivity level settings. The sensitivity levels include: High, Medium and Low (default). the higher the sensitivity, the easier the Sensor is triggered by shock/vibration.
To adjust sensitivity:
- Remove the battery
- Reinsert the battery. The LED indicator will light up briefly for about 1 second.
- Press and hold the Learn/Test button when the LED indicator is lit up.
- The LED will begin to flash 3 times:
Low - Release the button when the LED flashes for the first time
Medium - Release the button when the LED flashes for the second time
High - Release the button when the LED flashes for the third time
To test sensitivity:
Arm the system into the home mode, and hold one end of a pencil and strike the face of the of sensor with the other end, you may need to strike it 3 or 4 times hard to trigger the sensor. The Sensor should be installed on a glass to detect shock/vibration when its been smashed or kicked in. Banging on the window where the sensor is mounted should not trigger the sensor.
