abode has 3 alarm modes: Away, Home and Standby
What’s the difference between arming the away mode, home mode, or standby mode?
-
Standby Mode turns off the intrusion protection: door/window sensors and interior motion cameras but leave other sensors such as flood/water sensors and CO sensors enabled.
-
Away Mode turns on the perimeter protection: door/window sensors and interior motion cameras
-
Home Mode turns on the perimeter protection: door/windows sensors and turns off interior motion
What the entry and exit delay for? The delay timers are designed for when the user wants to arm the system before leaving the home, and disarm the system after entering the home.
-
Exit delay – While in the home, the user can arm the system and the exit delay gives the user time to leave the home before the system arms. (Defaulted for one minute but user adjustable from the abode web app)
-
Entry delay – When the system is armed, the user can enter the home and the system start the entry delay timer to give the user time to disarm the system. If the system is not disarmed before the entry delay ends, the alarm system will be triggered and the siren will start to sound. (Defaulted for one minute but user adjustable in the abode web app)
