Ready to get started with CUE? Follow the step-by-step directions below to create your own automations.
Mobile App

- Navigate to “Actions” on the bottom left
- Click on “CUE automations”
- Click “+ create new”
- Create a trigger by clicking the “+” sign in the first box
- Select at least one of the available trigger types that you want to cause an action by clicking the “+” icon to the right of the desired type
- You may add multiple triggers
- Multiple triggers operate as “or” statements
- For example, you can trigger your automation by saying “when the back door has been open for 3 minutes” or “5 minutes after the sun sets”
- Click “done” when you have added all of the triggers you would like
- Create an action by clicking the “+” sign in the box just below your newly-set triggers
- Select at least one of the actions you would like to happen when your triggers happen
- You may create an action for any of the devices you have connected to your Abode system
- Going back to the triggers we had set previously, if you had Philips Hue or LIFX light bulbs connected to your Abode system, your action could be “set the dining room lights to 50%”
- Once you have your desired actions in place, click “done”
- You may add conditions if to your automation if you would like. They are not mandatory like triggers and actions are.
- To do this, click the “+” icon in the box below your newly-set actions
- Add as many conditions as you like
- Unlike triggers, multiple conditions operate as “and” statement
- For example, you could set your conditions to be “if the time is between 6 and 8PM” and “I am not Home”
- Once you have added all desired conditions, click “done”
- Review your triggers, actions, and conditions to make sure your automation will run exactly as intended
- Click “save automation”
- Name your automation so you can easily find it if you need to go make edits or delete it
- Click “save”
- You should now see your newly created automation in the CUE automations page
- From here, you can toggle your automation on/off, view details for an easy to understand summary of the automation, make edits, or delete the automation
