abode is retiring legacy automations on February 28th, 2020. Find out what this change means for you.
If you currently use legacy automations
You will need to recreate your existing legacy automations within CUE. You can to exactly replicate them, or even add some more detail to them with additional triggers, actions or conditions. If you forget to to this before the deadline, your legacy automations will be automatically migrated to CUE for your convenience. However, we do recommend doing this yourself, so you have full control.
If you do not currently use legacy automations
You will not notice a difference outside of legacy automations no longer being available on the left sidebar.
Why the change?
We created CUE to be a best-in-class home automation platform. Our legacy automations were a great building block but CUE was always intended to be the successor. You can now create the exact automations you could in the legacy automations platform within CUE. So, we are consolidating. This consolidation is a small but important step toward the massive user experience improvements we intend to make this year.
What happens to quick actions?
Quick Actions will still be available but in a slightly different format. What you'll need to do is set up an automation with actions only within CUE. From the CUE page, you'll be able to click "run actions" on these individual automations.
How do I recreate my legacy automations in CUE?
Simply log in to your your web or mobile app, navigate to the CUE automation section, and recreate your existing automation. Once you have done that, be sure to name it and delete the old version in the legacy automation section.
If you have any trouble navigating CUE, you can review this guide or send us a chat or email.
Thank you, as always, for being an abode customer, and if we can assist you with anything related to this transition let us know by emailing us at email@example.com.
