How do I sign up for the beta?
If you already have an abode account, simply click on the link for your device (iOS or Android) on the new app page here.
Will my account transition over fully to the beta app?
Yes, as long as you log in with the same email address your devices, automations, quick actions, and settings will all load in.
Where can I get support for how to accomplish something in the new app?
We are actively working on updating our existing support documentation to reflect the new app in addition to building out completely new articles for new features. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on our support site, feel free to write in to us at email@example.com or chat us on our site.
Can I downgrade to the old app at any time?
Yes, of course. You can switch back to the old app anytime (although we don’t think you’ll want to) until this version is taken out of beta and fully replaces the current version of the app. To do so, just delete your beta version and download the old version from the app store as normal.
Is there anywhere I can give you feedback on the app?
For sure! And thank you for asking — we love feedback from our users. You can leave feedback within the app and we will be sending out surveys periodically before this app goes fully live to make sure it’s as polished as possible.
Can other users on my system use the beta version of the app?
Yes, anyone who has an abode login can use the beta version. They can access the beta by just clicking on the link for your device (iOS or Android) on the new app page at the link below.
Is there anyway to test the app without a system?
There is not at this time. The best way to do this would be checking out our video detailing new features and user experience at the link below or using the app of someone you know that is an existing abode customer.
When do you expect this app to come out of beta?
We are working hard to put the finishing touches on this version of the app and plan to release the full version in late March.
What languages is the beta app available in?
The beta version of the app is limited to English. Spanish will be available in the full version at release.
Why does it say I am on the basic plan?
We do not have plan limitations in the beta version of the app to encourage full exploration. Rest assured, if you have Connect or Secure your system will still connect to cellular backup if it loses internet connection and remains professionally monitored if you are on the Secure plan.
