Abode’s video-enabled devices are able to intelligently detect the presence of people, pets and packages to reduce unnecessary notifications and alert users only when there is a true cause for concern. To enable this feature on your camera(s), follow the steps outlined below:
- First, ensure that you are on the Standard or Pro Plan
- This feature is only available on these plans
- Navigate to the System Settings section of your account via the Abode App
- Scroll to the bottom and check the Firmware version of your cameras. Please note this feature is only available on Iota Cameras, Abode Cam 2 units, and Outdoor Smart Cameras
- Click “Install Updates” if eligible. If your cameras are up-to-date, do nothing
- Return to your Dashboard
To Enable:
On Mobile
- Go to each camera in turn, and tap on the settings cog
- Select Motion Settings, then Smart Detect
- Tap Person, Pet and/or Package as required
- Exit out using the Back button
On Desktop
- Click the camera settings you want to enable this from on your dashboard
- Click the Motion tab
- Click Smart Detection, and then select Person, Pet and/or Package as required
- Click Save
To Change Notifications:
- Go to Notifications
- Select Devices
- Select Smart Detect - Person under Cameras
- Update your notifications to your preferences
