Location Automations Guide

Location automations trigger actions when your phone enters or leaves a location you have defined in the Abode app. For example, your system can arm itself automatically when you leave home, or disarm when you arrive back.

1. In the Abode app, tap Automations from the bottom navigation.

2. Tap the + button at the top right, then tap Create Automation.

3. Tap Add Triggers.

4. Select Phone Location as your trigger type.

5. Follow the prompts to specify which phone, what event (entering or leaving), and which location to use.

6. Add your desired actions and any conditions, then save the automation.

Location automations require specific permissions to be enabled on your iPhone. Check all of the following:

1. In the Abode app, go to Menu, then Profile, and confirm Location Services are turned on.

2. On your iPhone, go to Settings, then Privacy, then Location Services. Find Abode and set it to Always. Also confirm Precise Location is turned on.

3. Go to Settings, then Privacy, then Motion and Fitness. Confirm Abode is listed there.

On Android, the exact menu names may vary by device. In general, both of these settings need to be enabled:

1. Go to Phone Settings, then Apps and Notifications, then Abode, then Permissions, then Location. Set this to Allow All the Time.

2. Go to Phone Settings, then Apps and Notifications, then Abode, then Permissions, then Physical Activity. Set this to Allow.

Every device involved in a location automation must be powered on, set up, and online. If a phone has not physically moved enough to report a new location in the past 24 hours, the Abode app will not trigger the automation. Make sure all linked phones are active and connected.
