You can customize exactly which events send you a notification on your mobile device. Notification preferences are set per user, so each person on your Abode account can have their own preferences.
Editing your notification preferences
1. In the Abode app, tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap your Profile.
3. Tap Notifications.
4. Notifications are organized by category. Tap a category to see individual notification settings.
5. Tap a specific notification to adjust it. If the option is greyed out, it is a critical alarm notification that cannot be disabled.
6. Tap Custom on any notification to set mode-specific conditions, for example, only receive a door-open notification when the system is armed in Away mode.
✓ | TIP If you are getting too many notifications, start by reviewing the door and window sensor category and setting them to Custom so they only alert you when the system is armed. |
Sending custom notifications via automations
You can also create automation-triggered notifications that send a custom message to specific users when any event you choose occurs.
1. In the Abode app, tap Automations from the bottom navigation.
2. Tap the + button, then tap Create Automation.
3. Name your automation and tap Add Triggers. Add your desired triggers and tap Done.
4. Tap Add Actions, then tap Notification.
5. Toggle on or off which users and devices should receive the notification, then tap Next.
6. Type the custom message you want displayed in the notification, then tap Done.
7. Add any conditions if needed, then tap Save.
