The System Status Indicator is a small, always-visible light that shows the current status of your Abode system. Mount it near entry points so everyone in your household, and you, can see at a glance whether the system is armed before opening a door. This simple device helps prevent false alarms caused by walking into an armed home unexpectedly.

Pairing your System Status Indicator
1. Open the Abode app on your iOS or Android device.
2. Tap the Menu (≡) icon.
3. Tap "Add Device".
4. Tap "Security Add-ons", then "System Status Indicator".
5. Follow the in-app instructions to complete pairing.
! | NOTE If pairing is unsuccessful using the standard method, try using the 'Other Devices' option in the Add Device menu instead. Some Status Indicators use Abode RF rather than Zigbee and may need this alternate method. |
Installing your System Status Indicator
You can mount the Status Indicator using adhesive tape or screws. Place it inside entry and exit points, such as near your front door, back door, or garage entry, where it's visible before you open the door.
Adhesive mounting
1. Clean the mounting surface with a suitable degreaser and let it dry.
2. Remove one side of the double-sided adhesive pad and apply it firmly to the back of the device.
3. Remove the other side of the pad and press the device firmly onto your chosen location.
! | NOTE Do not use adhesive mounting on poorly painted or rough surfaces. |
Screw mounting
1. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the Cover-Screw on the bottom of the device and detach the top cover from the base.
2. Break through the two mounting knockouts on the base.
3. Use the holes as a template to drill two holes in your wall and insert wall plugs.
4. Screw the base into the wall, then hook the top cover back onto the fixing hook and push it into place.
5. Secure the top cover with the Phillips screwdriver.
Troubleshooting
Pairing not successful
1. Try using the "Other Devices" method in the Add Device menu.
2. If still unsuccessful: remove the battery, then press the button inside the sensor 4 times to clear residual voltage.
3. Reinsert the battery. Make sure your Hub is in Pairing Mode (via Add Device in the app).
4. Hold down the sensor's pairing button while watching the front of the sensor. Wait up to 30 seconds for the red LED to flash once, then release the button.
5. Allow up to 3 minutes for the device to appear in the Add Device list.
6. If the device still does not appear, contact support at support@goabode.com.
