Pairing Guide

Adding the camera to your existing Abode system (Iota hub or Security hub):

  1. Open the Abode App on your iOS or Android device and login to your account.

  2. Power up OSC using the Corded Attachment. Wait up to 30 seconds for the device to warm up. Warm-up is complete when the LEDs turn amber for 2 seconds.

  3. Navigate to your devices list and select “Add device”

  4. Choose Outdoor Smart Camera. Follow in-app prompts to add the camera to your account. Camera LEDs will flash blue every 2 seconds during Wi-Fi setup or Alternating Amber/Blue when looking for a QR code. Once setup is successful the LEDs will turn green for 3 seconds.

  5. After successfully adding your OSC to your account the camera may be powered down and re-installed in desired location (doorbell or security camera) and re-powered. Video stream and recorded clips from the camera will be accessible on the Abode app Dashboard.

Setting up Outdoor Smart Camera as a stand-alone device

You can use the Outdoor Smart Camera as standalone device which does not require an Abode hub. A smartphone with the Abode App installed is required to perform setup. Search for the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play to download the application.

  1. Open the Abode App and create your account

  2. Power up OSC using the Corded Attachment. Wait up to 30 seconds for the device to warm up. Warm-up is complete when the LEDs turn amber for 2 seconds.

  3. Choose to setup as standalone camera or navigate to devices list and select “Add device”

  4. Choose Outdoor Smart Camera. Follow in-app prompts to add the camera to your account. Camera LEDs will flash blue every 2 seconds during Wi-Fi setup or alternating Amber/Blue when searching for a QR code.

Installation Guide

Note

The OSC is not compatible with multi-chime setups nor wireless doorbell chimes.

Standard Installation Guide

Outdoor Smart Camera (OSC) can be placed on a shelf (flat bottom) inside, or mounted indoors or outdoors with the included Magnet Mount. The camera may be powered by a 5V USB port or with the included AC wall adapter. To get started you will need the Magnet Mount, packet with the screw and metal plate, drill and a Phillips head screwdriver. Scroll down to follow these step-by-step instructions to help you with installation.

1. Plan Cable Path

Before installing, plan an ideal cable path. It’s recommended to mount the camera out of direct sunlight and under a shelter for the best image quality.

NOTE: Leave enough length to install and adjust the camera angle

2. Mount Wall Plate

Once your location has been set, use the included screw to mount the wall plate to a solid surface. Use a 3/32" (2.5mm) drill bit to drill a pilot hole for the screw.

Doorbell Installation Guide

The Outdoor Smart Camera (OSC) is compatible with most 16-24V AC-powered electronic and mechanical doorbell chimes operating on a two-wire system. The camera is not compatible with wireless doorbells or multi-chime setups. To get started you will need the doorbell mount, packet of screws with anchors, security screw with key, drill and a Phillips head screwdriver. Scroll down to follow these step-by-step instructions to help you with installation.

1. Turn OFF Power

Locate your circuit breaker and turn OFF main power to your doorbell.

WARNING

Do not attempt to install until you are certain the power is cut to the doorbell. To locate the right power switch, test to see if the doorbell rings and keep trying until you’ve found the correct switch and the doorbell no longer rings.

2. Remove Existing Doorbell

Unscrew the doorbell and unhook the wires from the back by loosening the screws that hold the wires.

NOTE: Make sure the wires don't retract back into the wall. Use tape to hold them in place.

3. Attach Wires

Loosen the two screws on the back of the OSC Doorbell Mount.
Connect the 16-24V AC doorbell wires to the inputs on the back of the mount.
Tighten the screws to secure the wires.

Using Cameras in certain Modes Only

Cameras can be set to not be active in Standby mode, due to privacy, and also to reduce notification and clip recordings at certain times with the use of CUE Automations.

All cameras, or only individual cameras, can be set to be active in Home, or Away modes, or both if needed.
