Pairing Guide

Adding the camera to an existing Abode system (Iota hub or Security hub)

1. Open the Abode app on your iOS or Android device and log in to your account.

2. Power up the OSC using the Power Cord Mount. Wait up to 30 seconds for the device to warm up. Warm-up is complete when the LEDs turn amber for 2 seconds.

3. Navigate to your devices list and select "Add Device."

4. Choose Outdoor Smart Camera. Follow the in-app prompts to add the camera to your account. The camera LEDs will flash blue every 2 seconds during Wi-Fi setup, or alternate amber/blue when looking for a QR code. Once setup is successful, the LEDs will turn green for 3 seconds.

5. After successfully adding your OSC, the camera may be powered down, re-installed in the desired location, and re-powered. The video stream and recorded clips will be accessible on the Abode app dashboard.

Setting up the Outdoor Smart Camera as a standalone device

You can use the Outdoor Smart Camera as a standalone device without the need to pair it to a hub. A smartphone with the Abode app installed is required. Search for the app in the Apple App Store or Google Play.

1. Open the Abode app and create your account.

2. Power up the OSC using the Power Cord Mount. Wait up to 30 seconds for the device to warm up. Warm-up is complete when the LEDs turn amber for 2 seconds.

3. Choose to set up as a standalone camera, or navigate to the devices list and select "Add Device."

4. Choose Outdoor Smart Camera. Follow the in-app prompts. Camera LEDs will flash blue every 2 seconds during Wi-Fi setup, or alternate amber/blue when searching for a QR code. Once setup is successful, the LEDs will turn green for 3 seconds.

5. After successfully adding your OSC, the camera may be powered down, re-installed in the desired location, and re-powered. The video stream and recorded clips will be accessible on the Abode app dashboard.

Standard Installation Guide

!

NOTE

The OSC is not compatible with multi-chime setups or wireless doorbell chimes.

The Outdoor Smart Camera can be placed on a shelf indoors, or mounted indoors or outdoors with the included Magnet Mount. The camera may be powered by a 5V USB port or the included AC wall adapter. You will need: the Magnet Mount, a packet with the screw and metal plate, a drill, and a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. Plan Cable Path

Before installing, plan an ideal cable path. Mount the camera out of direct sunlight and under a shelter for the best image quality. Leave enough length to install and adjust the camera angle.

2. Mount Wall Plate

Once your location is set, use the included screw to mount the wall plate to a solid surface. Use a 3/32" (2.5 mm) drill bit to drill a pilot hole for the screw.

TIP

If mounting to drywall or masonry, use the included wall anchor and a 1/4" (6.5 mm) drill bit to drill a pilot hole.

3. Attach Magnet Mount

Rotate and lock the Magnet Mount to the installed wall plate. Ensure the mount is secure. Attach the back of the camera to the Magnet Mount and adjust to the desired angle.

Doorbell Installation Guide

The Outdoor Smart Camera is compatible with most 16-24V AC-powered electronic and mechanical doorbell chimes operating on a two-wire system. The camera is not compatible with wireless doorbells or multi-chime setups. You will need: the Doorbell Mount, a packet of screws with anchors, a security screw with key, a drill, and a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. Turn Off Power

Locate your circuit breaker and turn off main power to your doorbell.

!

NOTE

Do not attempt to install until you are certain the power is cut to the doorbell. Test to see if the doorbell rings and keep trying until you have found the correct switch and the doorbell no longer rings.

2. Remove Existing Doorbell

Unscrew the doorbell and unhook the wires from the back by loosening the screws that hold them. Make sure the wires do not retract back into the wall; use tape to hold them in place.

3. Attach Wires

Loosen the two screws on the back of the OSC Doorbell Mount. Connect the 16-24V AC doorbell wires to the inputs on the back of the mount. Tighten the screws to secure the wires.

4. Attach Mount to Wall

Mark where you want to drill your holes and use a 3/32" (2.5 mm) drill bit to drill pilot holes for the screws. Once the mount is fastened to the wall, attach the camera.

TIP

If installing on brick or masonry, use the included wall anchors and a 1/4" (6.5 mm) drill bit to drill pilot holes.

Using Cameras in Certain Modes Only

Cameras can be set to be inactive in Standby mode (for privacy) and to reduce notifications and clip recordings at certain times using CUE Automations.

Cameras on in certain modes only

1. Ensure cameras are set to the desired motion detection setting (All Motion, or Smart Detect).

2. Create a new CUE Automation.

3. Set Trigger to [System Mode] and select Home, Away, or both. A Geo Location Trigger can also be used (for example: when all phones leave the geo fence). This sets when the cameras will be active.

4. Set Action to Streaming Cameras [select cameras] to turn on. This sets which cameras will be turned on.

Cameras off in certain modes only

1. Create a new CUE Automation.

2. Set Trigger to [System Mode] and select Standby or other modes as needed. A Geo Location Trigger can also be used (for example: when all phones enter the geo fence). This sets when the cameras will be inactive.

3. Set Action to Streaming Cameras [select cameras] to turn off. This sets which cameras will be turned off.
