Two-Factor Authentication adds additional security to your Abode home by requiring a code generated by an authenticator app on your phone when logging in from a new device. For complete security, enable Two-Factor Authentication for each user account that has access to the Abode system in your home.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Make sure to have a two-factor authentication app installed on your device first, such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

  1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Menu (≡).

  2. Tap your name to open your Profile settings.

3. Tap "Two-Factor Authentication" from the menu.

4. Enter your Abode account password.

5. Copy the code, or scan the barcode, into your authenticator app.

5. Your authenticator should generate a code. Copy this number. Return to the Abode App and paste the code into the text box under "Authentication Key". Press "Next".

6. Save the backup code in a secure place in the event you lose your phone or cannot access your authenticator app. If you lose your backup code, please contact support@goabode.com for help resetting your Two-Factor Authentication Settings. Tap "Done".

8. Log out, then lock back into your Abode App. After entering your username and password you will be prompted to enter the "Authenticator Passcode". This is a new passcode generated by your authenticator app.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication

Note

This only disables Two-Factor Authentication on this user account. It does NOT disable it for all user accounts on the gateway.

1. In the Abode App on your iOS or Android device, select the Menu (≡).

2. Tap "Two-Factor Authentication" from the menu.

3. Tap "Disable" to turn two-factor authentication off, then tape "Done" to complete the process.
