What is included in the Smart Security Kit?
The kit includes a Security Hub, a Mini Door/Window Sensor, a Key Fob, a window sticker, and all the cables and accessories needed for setup.
What do I need to set up my system?
You need an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet, an AC power outlet, and a spare Ethernet port on your internet router. The Ethernet connection is only required for initial setup. After that, you can switch to Wi-Fi.
How do I upgrade to a new Hub?
Swapping your Hub is straightforward. Email support@goabode.com with the MAC address of your existing Hub and the MAC address of your new Hub. Both MAC addresses are on the bottom of each device and start with "B0:C5:CA". The support team will transfer your profile to the new Hub. Note that the new Hub must be online during the swap.
How do I customize Hub sounds?
1. In the Abode app, tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap System Settings, then Sound Settings.
3. Adjust any sound setting. Tap Mute All Sounds to disable everything at once.
How do I set which devices are active in each mode?
1. In the Abode app, tap the Devices tab.
2. Tap the device you want to configure.
3. Under Choose When Sensor is Active, set your preference for Home, Away, and Standby modes.
4. Tap Done.
How do I adjust the alarm duration?
1. In the Abode app, tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap System Settings, then Sound Settings.
3. Tap Alarm Duration and set your preferred length.
What devices are compatible?
All Abode security devices and sensors are compatible with the Smart Security Hub, including door sensors, motion sensors, glass sensors, cameras, and sirens. The Hub also integrates with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant, opening up compatibility with a wide range of third-party smart home devices.
How do I add more devices?
1. In the Abode app, tap the Menu icon.
2. Tap Add Device.
3. Select the correct category and follow the prompts.
I am moving. How do I update my account?
If you are leaving your system behind for new occupants or want to transfer ownership, contact support@goabode.com. If you are moving into a home that already has an Abode system, reach out to the support team and they will help you activate it under your account.
